Nature Program
Apple Valley's nature program follows the seasons and fully takes advantage of hundreds of acres of beautiful natural habitats surrounding the school. The school's naturalist guides the children on adventures and teaches programs that emphasize each season's unique events, from planting in the garden, to fall harvest, snowshoeing, animal track identification, production of maple syrup, exploration of vernal pools, primitive survival skills.
The children learn from hands-on exploration both in and out of the classroom. The school takes ample advantage of its access to miles of conservation land right out its' back door.
It is a unique and in depth way to learn and explore the living world from the garden through the meadow to the forest and beyond.
